'What about us? We have left everything and followed you.' Mark 10:28-31

Many who are first will be last, and the last first' #Mark10:28-31

“I tell you solemnly, there is no one who has left house, brothers, sisters, father, children or land for my sake and the sake of the gospel, who will not be repaid a hundred times over” #Mark102831

Our Vocation

God issues a special invitation to those called to the priesthood and religious life. Such a vocation is not for the faint hearted. Even Peter reminds Jesus that they have given up everything for Him and seeks some reassurance that he and the disciples have made the right choice. Jesus provides the reassurance that Peter seeks. A calling to the religious life is profound and mysterious. However God provides special graces to such a soul for the fulfilment of His plan.

For most of us, we are not called to a religious vocation however there is a broad spectrum of God's work that we are called to undertake depending on our unique skills, talents and abilities. We may not be called to uproot our life, however there are significant opportunities within our every day life to fully live the gospel. How we live our lives, determines where our priorities lie. How much time do we give to silent time with the Lord each day? How well do we communicate love and acceptance to those around us? How often do we reach out to those in need of our help; the poor, the elderly, the sick? We have the opportunity to spread the gospel through our everyday lives. God gives us his Holy Spirit and the tools to do so.

Today, let us ask the Lord for insight as to where we can make a difference in the lives of others. Let us ask Jim to present opportunities to us where we can be the face of God's Love in the world. #Godslove, #ourvocation
